Philips AT890/17 AquaTouch Wet & Dry Men's Electric Shaver Reviews

It's a Fine Shaver

Submitted by Zoot on 21 March 2014

Well it arrived the day after placing the order and was a cheaper price than Amazon so it's a five star review for shavers.co.uk.

Regarding the shaver itself, I feel I should redress the reviews balance because to me it is pretty good - compared to my previous Braun/Foil type shaver it is a lot, lot quieter, it is very comfortable when dry shaving (no red neck afterwards) and shaves reasonably close.

It charges up fairly quick too so I'm happy so far.

Review of the Philips AT890/17 AquaTouch Wet and Dry Shaver

After just over a year of fastidious use, one of the cutting disks shredded sharp shards of metal, on complaining to Philips, I was informed moving parts were not covered by warranty.

No interest was shown in why something they recommend is replaced every two years shredded dangerously after one year.

Against my better wishes I duly bought a replacement cutting head which cost me around thirty pounds.

The whole shaver has now broken down completely after about 18 months, so I have spent close to one hundred pounds for just over a year of shaving with this product!

Worst razor in 30 years

Bought this razor for my disabled son who I shave. It is the worst razor I have ever bought and I have bought many over the last 30 years. The only thing I can do is buy a new one but it won't be Philips on principle.
